An opportunity has arisen for a part time Speech and Language Therapist to join our supportive and innovative Multi-Disciplinary Team at Eastway, our Learning Disability Assessment and Treatment Unit.
This post is being advertised at band 6 (or band 5 developmental post if newly qualified), at 18.75 hours per week.
You will be a valued member of our MDT, providing a specialist service providing assessments and interventions, you will be supported within your role by the unit team and wider service.
The main duties of this post will be to provide assessment, diagnosis, speech and language therapy interventions for patients in line with "communicating quality 3".
The role will involve managing a defined caseload and ensuring there are well coordinated care plans.
The successful candidate will have the ability to manage his/her time to prioritise tasks and consult with more senior clinicians when this is required.
Due to the multi-disciplinary nature of the Team is is essential that the post holder will work collaboratively with all appropriate agencies to ensure there is effective communication so the service can provide a high quality service to patients.
To provide appropriate information, advice and support to patients and carers, demonstrating empathy and ensuring that effective communication is achieved where barriers to understanding exist.
Produce, disseminate and update reports and guidelines using a range of media software and to ensure that these are accessible and appropriate.
