Job summary

Engage Education in Leeds is seeking a Speech and Language Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEND in a thriving South Leeds school. You will assist the class teacher, help deliver resources and manage behaviours, while fostering a fun and engaging learning environment.

Experience working with autistic spectrum disorders, learning disabilities, and physical disabilities is valued. A valid enhanced DBS is required; full-time, term-time hours 08:30–15:30, with ongoing CPD and supportive

Speech and Language Teaching Assistant- Leeds

Engage Education are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic individual with experience of working with children and adolescents with special educational needs. The successful candidate will be working in an SEN Team, recently OFSTED rated as Good. You will be working with students who have a wide variety of conditions including autistic spectrum disorder, global developmental delay, respiratory, neurological and neuromuscular pathologies.

This is a long term, full time position based in South Leeds. Ideally you will be able to start as soon as possible but we do also have positions starting later in the year.

Engage Education are currently working with a thriving special school in Wakefield who are urgently seeking a candidate from a Support Work/Residential Care background to work in a Special Needs Teaching Assistant capacity to support their secondary aged pupils with Autism, Learning Disabilities and Physical Disabilities. We are recruiting for people who are available on a full‑time basis to work 08:30 - 15:30 term time only to start from January.

About the role:

We welcome applicants with a good understanding of working with people with Learning/Physical Disabilities that are enthusiastic about raising the attainment of pupils with SEND.

You will ideally have experience in supporting children or adults with Autism or Learning Disabilities in a residential or supported living capacity. We also welcome applications from people that have worked in schools previously in a similar role. By being proactive and taking initiative, you are going to be able to build relationships with students and gain knowledge of a wide variety of needs.
