Job description

Our Technical Team is a vital part of Morrisons Manufacturing, responsible for ensuring legal compliance from a food safety perspective. Our sites are busy and demanding, with high standards that keep our Technical team engaged daily. We are seeking a Specification Technologist to join our Winsford Team. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining specifications and quality attribute sheets across the site.

Additional responsibilities include:

1. Ensuring all products are suitable for trading and compliant with relevant laws
2. Maintaining the specifications files with the most current information
3. Managing and issuing manufacturing specifications to factory teams
4. Obtaining artwork and securing sign-off to meet deadlines
5. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver technical aspects on time
6. Attending and contributing to meetings, ensuring all information is accessible
7. Building relationships with internal teams to facilitate results

About you

In addition to working efficiently under pressure, you should have:

1. Relevant experience or a degree in science, food technology, or an equivalent field
2. Knowledge of safety, legality, compliance, and quality across the supply chain and product range
3. Experience with retailer specification systems
4. Understanding of BRC requirements
5. Strong analytical and decision-making skills
6. Excellent communication skills and a solution-focused approach to problem-solving
7. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and a 'right first time' attitude
8. A positive, dynamic approach to working environment creation
