About the Specifications Technologist job

The purpose of this role is to prepare and issue customer specifications, catering to our diverse client base, and to work closely with both Technical and NPD teams, supporting all aspects of their operations to drive innovation and excellence.

Key tasks

1. Accurately complete and manage customer specifications within agreed timescales, maintaining and reviewing specification files regularly.
2. Collaborate with the technical department to arrange necessary samples for nutritional and chemical analysis, promptly address customer queries, seek approval for product changes, and update specifications accordingly, communicating with all relevant departments.
3. Support the production of quality products by demonstrating technical awareness of manufacturing processes, monitoring product quality, and ensuring compliance with market trends.
4. Organise and manage product documentation for effective handover to the Technical Department, ensuring compliance with the critical path and company standards.

About You

• Ideally hold a degree in food science/technology or a related discipline, with previous experience in a technical, specifications, or similar role within food manufacturing.
• Experience in writing finished product specifications.
• Proficient in Word and Excel, with confidence in computer literacy.

The Specifications Technologist position (ref: 8889) offers a salary of approximately £35,000, depending on experience.

The site is located in North London and is accessible from Enfield, Ilford, Hackney, Waltham Cross, and Potters Bar.

The working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
