About Our Client

We are offering a unique and exciting opportunity for a Specification Sales Director to drive market share within a building products manufacturer group.

Job Description

The role focuses on leveraging existing brands and product offerings to develop a comprehensive portfolio for architects, specifiers, and main contractors. The goal is to secure specifications from project design through to completion and establish the company as the preferred supplier and brand on specialist projects within the built environment.

We seek a candidate with proven sales and commercial leadership skills in a high-quality environment, experienced in leading transformational change within a specification-driven sales setting.

The successful candidate will be highly customer-focused, engaging with specifiers and influencers to secure specifications throughout the value chain. Additionally, managing effective cross-functional relationships with internal stakeholders to implement targeted sales strategies and leading a specialist specification team across the UK are key responsibilities.

The Successful Applicant

  • Proven experience in a strategic specification-led sales approach within the built environment.
  • Understanding of the RIBA stage gate process and delivering effective CPD seminars through the team.
  • An entrepreneurial, new-business-focused mindset with the drive to grow and develop the specification channel.
  • Broad sales and commercial experience across the construction supply value chain.
  • A focus on delivering commercial excellence through the team and specification channels.
  • Ability to sell innovative technical solutions rather than just individual products.
  • A structured sales leadership approach with experience in training, mentoring, coaching, and supporting teams.
  • An open, likeable personality with clear communication, honesty, and integrity.
