Job summary

Universal Business Team is seeking a commercially focused Specification Manager to drive product specifications across the construction sector, engaging architects, consultants and developers and guiding opportunities from concept to conversion.

The national field-based role requires travel, a flexible schedule and a package including £60,000–£70,000 salary, bonus and car allowance, with hybrid working (1 day per week at Norwich head office).

Qualifications

• Experience in specification sales or business development within construction products.
• Understanding of the construction project lifecycle.
• Ability to engage with architects, consultants and other decision-makers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with architects, consultants, surveyors and other specifiers.
• Identify and secure product specifications on commercial projects.
• Deliver CPDs, technical presentations and product demonstrations.
• Generate and qualify opportunities using market intelligence and CRM systems.
• Manage projects from early design through tender and contractor appointment.
• Protect specifications and minimise product substitutions.
• Collaborate with internal teams to support successful project conversion.
• Maintain an accurate project pipeline and CRM records.
• Share market and competitor insights to support growth.
