A prestigious NHS Trust is seeking a Specialty Doctor in Urology for a 12-month term. You will join an esteemed department managing a spectrum of urological conditions and be part of a supportive team. We have been assigned by one of the UK's most prestigious NHS Trusts to assist in recruiting a Specialty Doctor in Urology on either a Substantive or NHS Fixed Term basis for 12 months to join their successful department.
The Urology department comprises 9 full-time consultants and covers a wide spectrum of urological practice including BPH, incontinence, laparoscopic surgery, and stones. Consultants operate a 1 in 8 on-call rota, supported by middle-grade doctors on a 1 in 8 rota with 24/7 onsite junior support and a comprehensive 3-tier rota. The department is supported by a dedicated team of specialists including a nurse consultant, a lead nurse, 5 urology cancer nurses, and 2 urology nurse practitioners, who manage follow-up and telephone clinics and perform procedures like TRUS biopsies, cystostomy, and flexible cystoscopies.
The department holds a monthly audit half-day, and active participation is expected. There are opportunities for research, publications, and attendance at urology courses and conferences.
The location offers a variety of living environments including city life, small towns, and villages, all within reasonable commuting distance to the hospital. The area boasts excellent schools, diverse social and leisure activities, and good transport links to London, Birmingham, and other major cities.
