Job summary

Hiscox UK’s Specialty Claims team in York/Colchester and other UK locations invites a driven professional to join a role focusing on cyber claims and diverse portfolios. You will handle investigations, direct claims work, and support TPAs and coverholders, while liaising with clients, brokers and experts.

Responsibilities

• Investigation and management of claims across a range of lines of business including entertainment, personal accident and event cancellation, from first notification to conclusion.
• Handling claims directly as well as overseeing and supporting a number of TPAs and coverholders.
• Selection, instruction and active management of experts including lawyers, loss adjusters and, SI investigators.
• Liaising and negotiating by telephone and in person with clients, brokers, coverholders and vendors.
• Developing strong commercial relationships with clients and brokers alike. Demonstrating keen focus on the customer – regular communication with customers and brokers
• Proactively managing a large claims portfolio.
• Working closely with underwriters to win and retain business and to develop Hiscox’s insurance products.
• Outside of pure claims handling you will be expected to assist in the continuous improvement of our claims operation by identifying areas of opportunity and helping create solutions.
• Subject to claims volumes and capacity within the team, it is possible the role will involve an element of cyber claims handling.

The role

The role sits within the Specialty Claims team and is part of the wider Claims function who are based in London, Colchester, York and Glasgow. You will be working with colleagues in these locations on a daily basis.

This role will give you the opportunity to handle a large portfolio of cyber claims. You will be helping policyholders who are the victims of cyber attacks, have lost data or being threatened with action by the claimants and regulators. This job is always varied and never becomes routine or dull - you don’t know what each day will bring as new claims arise every day.
