Job summary

Job description

We are inviting applications for a Rota Co-ordinator for Anaesthetics with a primary base at the Royal Hampshire County but with some cross site working at the Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital.

The Rota Co-ordinator for Anaesthetics is responsible for the effective co-ordination, management, and administration of anaesthetic rotas across the Anaesthetic Departments within Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Working closely with the Deputy Operational Service Managers, Clinical Leads, Clinical Director, Consultants, and Resident Doctors, the post holder will ensure the provision of safe and efficient medical staffing arrangements that support service delivery across both hospital sites.

The role involves the day-to-day management and maintenance of medical rotas using the Trust's electronic rostering systems, including dbRotas, CLW, E-Rota,. The post holder will ensure appropriate staffing levels are maintained, coordinate leave requests, support training and educational requirements, and respond proactively to short-notice staffing changes to minimise disruption to patient care.

As part of the wider Anaesthetic rota team, the post holder will work collaboratively with other rota co-ordinators, providing cross-cover during periods of annual leave or absence. The role requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will be an experienced administrator with strong communication and relationship-building skills, capable of working independently and using their own initiative. They will develop effective working relationships with clinical, managerial, nursing, and administrative colleagues to support the delivery of a high-quality, responsive, and efficient medical staffing service.
