Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking an experienced Tutor to deliver personalised 1:1 tuition to pupils in or around Ipswich who have additional learning and behavioural needs. In this role you will create bespoke lessons aimed at bridging learning gaps, boosting confidence, and helping students reconnect with education.

Many pupils may have been away from mainstream education for some time, so a patient, adaptable and encouraging approach is essential.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent teaching qualification, or relevant learning support experience.
• At least 6 months experience teaching or tutoring.
• Strong understanding of the PMY/SEC curriculum.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Able to provide a calm, supportive and positive learning environment.
• Patient, adaptable and encouraging approach.

Responsibilities

• Complete baseline assessments with the student to understand their individual needs.
• Plan and deliver tutoring sessions tailored to their needs.
• Provide support in core subjects including Maths, English and Science.
• Build the students' confidence and encourage independence and positive study habits.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to parents/carers where required.

In this role, you will create and deliver bespoke lessons aimed at bridging learning gaps, boosting confidence, and helping students reconnect with education. POSITION DETAILS

• Location - Ipswich


• Position - 1:1 Specialist Tutor


• Start date - ASAP


• End date (if applicable) - Ongoing


• Full time/part time - Part time and full time depending on availability


• Minimum rate of pay - Minimum rate 25 per hour

Key Responsibilities

• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
