Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking an experienced Interventions Tutor to deliver personalised 1:1 tuition to pupils in or around Thurrock who have additional learning and behavioural needs. The role offers flexible part-time or full-time hours and starts ASAP, with ongoing dates.

The tutor will assess baseline needs, plan bespoke sessions in Maths, English and Science, and monitor progress while providing feedback to carers. A calm, patient, and encouraging approach is essential.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent teaching qualification or relevant learning support experience.
• At least 6 months' experience teaching or tutoring.
• Strong understanding of the PMY/SEC curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Complete baseline assessments with the student to understand their individual needs.
• Plan and deliver tutoring sessions tailored to their needs.
• Provide support in core subjects including Maths, English and Science.
• Build the students confidence and encourage independence and positive study habits.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to parents/carers where required.

Prospero Teaching is seeking an experienced Tutor to deliver personalised 1:1 tuition to pupils in or around Thurrock who have additional learning and behavioural needs.

In this role, you will create and deliver bespoke lessons aimed at bridging learning gaps, boosting confidence, and helping students reconnect with education. Many of the pupils you support may have been away from mainstream education for some time, so a patient, adaptable, and encouraging approach is essential.

Position Details

• Location - Thurrock
• Position - 1:1 Interventions Tutor
• Start date - ASAP
• End date (if applicable) - Ongoing
• Full time/part time - Part time and full time depending on availability
• Minimum rate of pay - Minimum rate £25 per hour

Key Responsibilities
