Job summary

University of the Arts London is seeking a versatile 3D digital design educator to support student learning and improve proficiency with specialist techniques, methods and technology. You will operate 3D printers and assist with student file preparation in Rhino 3D while guiding CNC milling, laser cutting, object scanning, and general modelling.

The role emphasizes hands-on teaching and ensuring students achieve practical outcomes in 3D digital fabrication across FDM, SLA and PolyJet platforms

Qualifications

• A degree or equivalent professional qualification in 3D digital design or demonstrable industry experience with 3D design and manufacture and educational delivery.
• Demonstrable experience with FDM, SLA and polyjet 3D printing.
• Proficiency in Rhino 3D modelling.

Responsibilities

• Operate 3D printing machines and support student file development in Rhino 3D modelling software.
• Teach and support students in file preparation as well as CNC milling, laser cutting, object scanning and 3D modelling.

Job description

To provide support for student learning, informal and formal training and instruction and the development of proficiency with highly specialist techniques, production methods and technology, covering areas of 3D digital fabrication. Day to day the job covers operating 3D Printing machines and supporting student file development in Rhino 3D modelling software. Teaching and supporting students in file preperation as well as CNC milling, laser cutting, object scanning and 3D modelling.

Essential: A degree or an equivalent professional qualification in 3D digital design or demonstrable professional industry experience in 3D digital design and manufacture plus educational delivery and/or training. Demonstrable experience with FDM, SLA and polyjet 3D printing. Proficiency in Rhino 3D modelling.
Ideal: Previous work operating CNC milling machines, with the Roland SRP player set-up. Hands on experience in, laser cutting, Adobe illustrator, Bambu Studio and Preform softwares.
