Job summary

Education World is recruiting SEN Support Assistants in Stockton-on-Tees to support pupils with SEND in the new academic year.

You will assist with 1:1 and small-group support, work with pupils with ASC, ADHD, SEMH and communication needs, and help deliver engaging lessons while supporting emotional regulation and behaviour.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND is desirable.
• CACHE Level 2/3 qualifications are advantageous but not essential with relevant experience.
• Patient, resilient and committed to helping every child succeed.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people by helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

THE ROLE:

• Supporting pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) on both a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
• Working with students with additional needs including ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition), ADHD, SEMH, MLD and communication difficulties.
• Assisting the class teacher to deliver engaging and inclusive lessons.
• Supporting pupils with emotional regulation, behaviour management and social development.
• Full-time and Part-time hours available.
• September starts.
• £90+ per day (depending on experience).

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND is desirable.
• A CACHE Level 2 or Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification (or equivalent) is advantageous but not essential for candidates with relevant experience.
• Patient, resilient and committed to helping every child succeed.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Must have (or be willing to apply immediately for) an enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service.
• Adaptable, reliable and professional.
