Job summary

Long Term Futures Ltd in Smethwick is seeking an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to provide tailored 1:1 and small group support for pupils with EHCPs. You will help children access learning and develop communication, social and academic skills.

The role is long-term temporary with potential for permanency, Monday to Friday during term time. A Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning is required, with SEND experience in a primary setting.

Qualifications

  • A Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent in a relevant subject.
  • Previous experience supporting children with SEND in a primary or specialist setting.
  • Strong understanding of EHCP targets and how to support pupils in achieving them.
  • Confidence delivering both 1:1 support and structured small group interventions.
  • Excellent communication skills, patience and a calm, nurturing approach.

Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support for pupils with EHCPs, adapting learning to meet individual needs
  • Deliver small group interventions to develop communication, social, emotional and academic skills
  • Support pupils with Autism, speech and language needs, SEMH and other additional needs
  • Implement personalised strategies, visual supports and behaviour plans to promote engagement and independence
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor progress and adapt support where required

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Smethwick is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide tailored support for pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). This long-term opportunity is ideal for someone passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning through high-quality 1:1 and targeted group support.

In this role, you will:
  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support for pupils with EHCPs, adapting learning to meet individual needs
  • Deliver small group interventions to develop communication, social, emotional and academic skills
  • Support pupils with Autism, speech and language needs, SEMH and other additional needs
