Sheffield City Council HQ is seeking a full-time, permanent Specialist Teacher from January 2027 to support pupils with vision impairment and physical disabilities. The role is based at Tapton School, working within the Vision and Physical Support Service to deliver specialist teaching and guidance across the city.

The successful candidate will bring substantial experience in mainstream settings and a track record of inclusive practice with families and multi-agency teams.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience of supporting children and young people with physical disabilities in mainstream settings.
• Experience of teaching learners with vision impairment.
• Must undertake the mandatory qualification and training to develop specialist knowledge and skills.

Responsabilités

• Provide specialist advice and support to educational settings.
• Direct one-to-one teaching for children and young people.
• Manage a citywide caseload and collaborate with families, schools and multi-agency professionals.
