Job summary

Sheffield City Council is seeking an Early Years Inclusion Teacher for its Language Centre provision. You will work with young children who have additional needs, guiding inclusive teaching, supporting communication, language and learning, and collaborating with families and professionals.

You will be a qualified teacher with QTS, bringing substantial Early Years SEND experience and a commitment to child-centred, reflective, creative practice while promoting inclusive approaches across settings

Qualifications

• Qualified teacher with QTS and significant experience in Early Years and SEND.
• Experience collaborating in a multi-disciplinary team including families and professionals.
• Strong observation, assessment, and intervention planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver inclusive learning experiences responding to individual developmental and communication needs.
• Observe and assess children to inform teaching strategies and programmes.
• Collaborate with Speech and Language Therapy colleagues and other professionals as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Engage with parents and carers as partners in learning and development.
• Support Early Years practitioners and settings to develop confidence and inclusive practice.
• Provide practical advice, strategies and resources embedded in everyday learning environments.
• Contribute to planning, assessment, and transitions for children receiving support.
• Promote ambitious but appropriate outcomes for children with SEND.
• Contribute to high-quality inclusive Early Years practice across Sheffield.
