Job summary

Birmingham City Council is seeking a Specialist Teacher for the Physical Support Team on a permanent contract. The role involves teaching children and young people with physical difficulties and/or complex medical needs, across Birmingham schools, with travel between settings.

A DBS check and proof of right to work in the UK are required. The team works within Birmingham's SEND Reform journey, with emphasis on inclusion and improving access to learning for pupils in mainstream and specialist

Qualifications

• Applicants must hold qualified teacher status.
• Experience of teaching children and young people with physical difficulties and/or complex medical needs is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Teach in Birmingham's Sensory and Physical Support Team across schools and settings.
• Promote inclusion and improve access to learning for children and young people with physical difficulties.
• Travel across Birmingham to meet students in different settings.
• Contribute to safeguarding and welfare commitments.
