Job summary

We Manage Jobs(WMJobs) in Birmingham seeks three outstanding Specialist Teachers to join the Communication and Autism Team (CAT) on a full-time permanent basis, starting January 2027. The role involves supporting pupils aged 3–25 with autism and social communication needs across mainstream to resource base provision.

The team delivers training, works with families, schools and partner agencies, and aims to improve outcomes through Neuroinclusive Education Trust programmes.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) required.
• Experience working with children with autism/SEN is desirable.
• Commitment to inclusive education and safeguarding policies.

Responsibilities

• Raise achievement and promote inclusion for pupils with autism and social communication needs.
• Collaborate with schools to improve access to learning and whole-school practice.
• Support families through guidance, workshops, and home visits where appropriate.
• Deliver specialist training including Neuroinclusive Education programmes for schools and services.
• Plan targeted support based on partnership plans.
• Assess and report pupil progress using standard tools.
• Provide 1:1 pupil support and model specialist teaching.
• Contribute to statutory processes including TAC/YP meetings and annual reviews.
• Advise on teaching methods, differentiation, and resources for autism.
