Job summary

Wiltshire College & University Centre in Chippenham invites applications for a Specialist Support Coach. This permanent, full-time role (37 hours per week, term time only 36+4 weeks) provides stability and a chance to empower learners with additional needs to thrive in education.

The role involves 1:1, small group and in-class interventions, managing a caseload and supporting attendance, English and Maths. The college offers a broad benefits package and a supportive, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting individuals with additional needs (education, care, youth work, SEN support, or similar).
• Hold or be willing to work towards a relevant Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
• A patient, empathetic, and student-centred approach.

• Ability to motivate and engage learners with diverse needs.
• Commitment to safeguarding and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored support to learners with additional needs, both in and out of the classroom
• You will provide tailored support through 1:1, small group and in-class interventions, supporting learners with a range of needs including ASC, ADHD, SEMH and communication difficulties
• Manage a caseload of learners, supporting attendance, study skills, English and Maths, engagement and achievement
• Contribute to EHCP outcomes and support positive learner progression
• Assist students in developing independence, confidence, and essential life skills
• Adapt support strategies to meet individual learning requirements
• Work closely with teaching staff and support teams to ensure student success
• Promote an inclusive, safe, and encouraging learning environment
