This role involves acting as a specialist clinician for the Calderdale Alternative Provision Specialist Taskforce, supporting the wider team with communication and engagement of young people accessing the provision. Responsibilities include assessing young people's communication abilities, training the workforce, auditing and fostering a communication-friendly environment, and advising parents and carers regarding speech, language, and communication within social, emotional, and mental health contexts. The role requires working autonomously within Trust policies, maintaining accurate records, and managing a specialist caseload.
Further duties include performing specialist assessments and treatments for children and young people, facilitating understanding and participation of parents, carers, and the multidisciplinary team, developing and evaluating individual treatment programs, supporting transition back into educational settings, and training staff across various roles. The role also involves providing advice within the wider multi-agency team.
