Job summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Band 6 Specialist Speech and Language Therapist with well-established dysphagia and voice skills to join our friendly and supportive Adult Speech and Language Therapy team. This is a temporary post (12 months) to cover maternity leave, with potential for permanent hours long-term. The role involves working at Harrogate Hospital, covering acute wards and outpatient voice clinics.
We pride ourselves on being an innovative and encouraging team with a strong commitment to Continuing Professional Development and service development at every level. Supported by a team of Band 8, Band 7, Band 6 therapists, SLT Assistants, and the wider MDT, the post holder will demonstrate specialist knowledge and skills across adult inpatient wards and voice outpatient settings, managing an adult caseload. You will also gain exposure to our weekly instrumental assessment services, including Videofluoroscopy and FEES.
The post holder will provide comprehensive clinical services for inpatients and outpatients within the Harrogate and District area, including ward cover and voice outpatient clinics.
The successful candidate will have experience working with dysphagia, communication, and voice patients across various settings.
To work as part of inpatient and outpatient multidisciplinary teams to maximize patient rehabilitation potential, and to deliver education and training to patients, carers, and healthcare professionals.
