We have an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to work with adults with learning (intellectual) disabilities in the Cambridgeshire Learning Disability Partnership (LDP). The service is well-established, offering many development opportunities.
The LDP consists of five locality-based integrated community teams, including social workers, adult support coordinators, psychiatrists, psychologists, occupational therapists, arts therapists, and Speech & Language Therapists, all employed by CPFT. The team includes a Band 8a Lead SLT, two Band 7 Advanced SLTs, two Band 6 Specialist SLTs, and a Band 4 Apprentice SLT. We collaborate closely with colleagues across CPFT, the University of East Anglia, and the University of Cambridge, providing placements for SLT undergraduates.
The teams aim to deliver person-centred, integrated health and care management services that promote independence, health, and wellbeing, aligned with individual needs and potential.
Manage a caseload of clients with complex learning disabilities, participate in service development, and provide supervision and training to staff and students. Deliver assessments, identify needs, and provide treatment for communication and swallowing disorders. Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and with key partners.
