Job summary

Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Specialist Speech and Language Therapist for the Adult Community Learning Disability Service in Lowestoft. You will work within a dynamic MDT to assess, treat, and support people with complex LD needs, promoting person-centred care and co-production.

The role offers autonomy in clinical delivery, leadership in service development, and opportunities to contribute to training and multidisciplinary case discussions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Speech & Language Therapy and UK registration
• Postgraduate dysphagia qualification
• Desirable: Makaton or sign language qualification
• Desirable: further communication training

Responsibilities

• Assess communication needs using standardised and non-standardised assessments
• Provide dysphagia assessment and intervention
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Engage with service users, carers and family to ensure co-production
• Devise, deliver and evaluate treatment plans
• Deliver training and support for family and carers
• Attend/lead clinical meetings and contribute to discussions
• Maintain HCPC standards and CPD
