Job summary

Treloar College is seeking a Specialist SEND Teacher to deliver high quality, personalised teaching for students with complex needs. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to promote communication, independence and preparation for adulthood.

The role involves teaching learners with physical, learning and medical needs on a Skills for Life curriculum, delivered in small groups and in varied settings including community learning. Term-time, full-time permanent contract.

Qualifications

• Qualified teacher with QTS/QTLS or equivalent.
• Experience with students who have physical, learning and communication difficulties.
• Experience applying sensory approaches to learning and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality, personalised teaching on the Skills for Life Curriculum.
• Work within a multidisciplinary team to promote independence and wellbeing.
• Create engaging learning experiences in small tutor groups.
• Support students towards greater independence and adulthood readiness.
• Safeguard learners and contribute to safeguarding processes.
