Job summary

SEND Inclusion Support in Bolton is seeking an experienced SEND Teacher to join a specialist primary class supporting children with autism and complex learning needs. This role involves delivering pre-formal learning in a small eight-student class with a dedicated support team in a Bolton setting.

The position starts after October half term and offers a permanent opportunity for the right candidate, with potential for temp-to-perm.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) required.
• Experience teaching pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition and complex SEND.
• Knowledge of pre-formal or sensory-based learning approaches.
• Experience supporting non-verbal pupils and PECS.
• Calm, patient and consistent behaviour support.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver pre-formal learning experiences that promote engagement and communication.
• Lead a small class of eight with dedicated support.
• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants to ensure high-quality support.
• Follow individual care plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures.
• Monitor progress and adapt teaching to celebrate every step forward.
• Provide ongoing support from SEND Inclusion Support throughout placement.
