Job summary

Senploy is recruiting for a Sixth Form SEND Teacher to support a small post-16 class in Bolton. The role focuses on students aged 16-19 with Autism Spectrum Condition, delivering differentiated lessons and developing communication and independence skills as they prepare for adulthood.

The post is full-time, temporary with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate, starting after October half term.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) required.
• Experience teaching pupils with SEND or ASC.
• Confidence differentiating learning for Entry Level learners.
• Experience using visual supports and accessible teaching resources.
• Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills.
• A flexible, creative and person-centred approach.

Responsibilities

• Planning and delivering accessible lessons for Entry Level learners.
• Supporting communication through visual resources where appropriate.
• Developing pupils’ confidence, independence and functional life skills.
• Creating consistent classroom routines that help students thrive.
• Building positive, respectful relationships with learners.
• Working closely with teaching assistants and the wider school team.
• Monitoring progress and adapting teaching to individual needs.
• Encouraging meaningful participation and preparation for adulthood.
