Job summary

Rising Hope Education is urgently recruiting two Specialist SEND Teaching Assistants to join established SEN schools in Barking & Dagenham and Redbridge from September. You’ll work with teachers and SEND professionals to provide consistent, individualized support throughout the school day.

Role focuses on supporting pupils with autism and complex needs, enabling access to learning, and developing communication and social skills in a specialist setting.

Qualifications

• Experience within SEND would be highly valuable.
• Background in care, support work, residential care, youth work, psychology, mental health or autism services is welcome.
• The right attitude and caring approach are essential for success in specialist SEND environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide consistent, individualized support across the school day.
• Support pupils with autism and communication needs.
• Assist non-speaking pupils to communicate using PECS or similar methods.
• Help pupils access learning at an appropriate level.
• Support personal care where required by individual pupils.
• Maintain safeguarding, dignity and professionalism.
