Job summary

Reeson Education is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join its specialist ASD Unit in Tower Hamlets from September 2026. The role involves supporting a small group of pupils with Autism and associated communication and sensory needs within a nurturing environment.

Working alongside a specialist teacher and SEN team, you will help pupils develop communication, independence and readiness for learning, with small class sizes and opportunities to progress into a permanent role.

Qualifications

• Has experience supporting children with Autism in a school or specialist setting.
• Understands consistency, routine and structured learning.
• Calm, patient and resilient when supporting pupils with complex needs.
• Can build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
• Is passionate about inclusive education and SEND.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils within the specialist ASD Unit throughout the school day.
• Deliver one-to-one and small-group learning activities aligned to EHCP outcomes.
• Implement visual timetables, sensory strategies and structured routines.
• Encourage communication, social interaction and independence.
• Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists and the SENCO to review pupil progress.
