Job summary

Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Specialist School Nurse to support children and young people with complex needs in Bracknell. The role is based mainly at Kennel Lane School, with a fixed-term contract for the 2026/27 academic year, Monday–Friday core hours 08:00–17:00.

The post requires NMC registration as a Children’s Nurse or qualification as a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (School Nursing) or Learning Disabilities Nurse.

Qualifications

• Desirable clinical skills in caring for children and young people with complex needs.
• Ability to plan, deliver and evaluate nursing care.
• Experience in training, mentoring and care planning for staff and pupils.

Responsibilities

• Lead assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of evidence-based nursing care.
• Deliver training and care planning for staff and school personnel.
• Develop and maintain individualised care plans for pupils.
