Job summary

North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Specialist Physiotherapist (Rotational) to join the Band 6 Rotational Physiotherapy Team. This internal role is suitable for experienced clinicians or Band 5s ready to develop leadership across settings.

The post offers varied rotations with advanced assessment and treatment, supervision of Band 5s, students, and opportunities to contribute to service development, with emphasis on MDT collaboration and CPD.

Qualifications

  • Degree in physiotherapy or equivalent.
  • HPC registered.
  • Clinical supervision / mentoring certificate or equivalent.

We are pleased to offer an exciting internal opportunity for a motivated Physiotherapist to join our Band 6 Rotational Physiotherapy Team. This post is ideal for experienced clinicians or Band 5 physiotherapists ready to step up and develop their clinical leadership skills across a range of settings.

This Band 6 rotational post provides the chance to build advanced skills while working across a range of specialty areas. Each rotation offers the opportunity to consolidate clinical reasoning, develop autonomy, and contribute to service improvement.

Other Requirements
  • Flexible approach to work patterns. Able to participate in on-call duties.
  • Ability to travel between sites.
  • Driving licence.
Knowledge and Experience
  • Rotations in a broad range of core areas, e.g. cardio-respiratory, ITU, elderly rehabilitation, acute medicine, orthopaedics, MSK, neurology and community rehabilitation.
  • Deputising for senior colleagues.
  • Involvement in service development through clinical audit, use of outcome measures etc.
  • Working to full band 5 outline.
  • Supervising e.g. students, newly qualified staff, support staff
  • Delegation and caseload prioritisation
  • Working independently on call.
  • Consolidation and development of undergraduate training through attendance at in service training and other CPD opportunities.
  • Portfolio of evidence of post-graduate learning e.g. ALERT, neurology, cardio-respiratory etc. Key NHS drivers for change and implications for physiotherapy services.
  • Following NHS discharge policy Professional code of conduct and confidentiality.
  • Awareness of complaints procedure.
  • Understanding of Equality and diversity issues.
  • Work within a community setting.
  • Responsibility for an area of work, e.g. health & safety, in-service training
  • Equality legislation and best practice.
Qualifications
  • Degree in physiotherapy or equivalent.
  • HPC registered
  • Clinical supervision / mentoring certificate or equivalent.
