Job summary

NCIC are seeking a Specialist Physiotherapist (Rotational) at Band 6 for a full-time, rotational post based at Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle. The role offers diverse rotations across specialist areas, with supervision, teaching, and ongoing professional development.

The post is permanent and part of the NCIC Physiotherapy team, with weekend and on-call commitments on a rota. Salary ranges £39,959–£48,117 per annum and a comprehensive benefits package.

We are pleased to offer an exciting internal opportunity for a motivated Physiotherapist to join our Band 6 Rotational Physiotherapy Team. This post is ideal for experienced clinicians or Band 5 physiotherapists ready to step up and develop their clinical leadership skills across a range of settings.

This Band 6 rotational post provides the chance to build advanced skills while working across a range of specialty areas. Each rotation offers the opportunity to consolidate clinical reasoning, develop autonomy, and contribute to service improvement.

  • Flexible approach to work patterns. Able to participate in on-call duties.
  • Ability to travel between sites.
  • Driving licence.
Knowledge and Experience
  • Rotations in a broad range of core areas, e.g. cardio-respiratory, ITU, elderly rehabilitation, acute medicine, orthopaedics, MSK, neurology and community rehabilitation.
  • Deputising for senior colleagues.
  • Involvement in service development through clinical audit, use of outcome measures etc.
  • Working to full band 5 outline.
  • Supervising e.g. students, newly qualified staff, support staff
  • Delegation and caseload prioritisation
  • Working independently on call.
  • Consolidation and development of undergraduate training through attendance at in service training and other CPD opportunities.
  • Portfolio of evidence of post-graduate learning e.g. ALERT, neurology, cardio-respiratory etc. Key NHS drivers for change and implications for physiotherapy services.
  • Following NHS discharge policy Professional code of conduct and confidentiality.
  • Awareness of complaints procedure.

Qualifications
