Job summary

Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust (CNTW) invites applications for a Specialist Physiotherapist (Development post) at Band 6 based in Ashington. This role offers development into a Band 6 position with opportunities to work across mental health services, with a focus on dementia and complex cases within Northumberland.

Responsibilities

  • This is an opportunity for a band 6 physiotherapist or a physiotherapist to move into a developmental post working as a band 6 or working from a Band 5 and developing into a Band 6 role.
  • You will be a skilled and knowledgeable team player who is able to think holistically and creatively to deliver specialist assessment and management and physiotherapy service provision for service users who have a variety of complex physiotherapy needs, diverse presentations and a range of mental health, alongside our multi-disciplinary team.
  • Alongside the clinical leads and other colleagues, you will contribute to the service development and implementation of evidence-based core pathways across community services whilst contributing to the inpatient team from this perspective. Using research, innovation, and quality improvement.

Person specification
Education and Qualifications
  • Recognised Physiotherapy degree qualification or equivalent.
  • State registration with HCPC.
  • Further relevant post qualifying training.
  • Registered member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
Knowledge and Experience
  • Awareness and understanding of professional accountability, HCPC and CSP standards and other local and national initiatives
  • Proven track record of post registration clinical experience relevant to the post.
  • Awareness and understanding of professional accountability, HCPC and CSP standards and other local and national initiatives.
  • Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Experience of providing Physiotherapy services.
  • Clinical experience relevant to this role
  • Knowledge of involving service users/ carers in evaluation/planning and monitoring of services
  • Knowledge of audit, research and evaluation
Skills and Competencies
  • Skills in a range of appropriate standardised and informal assessments
  • Highly developed communication skills
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively within multi-agency teams
  • Provide appropriate therapeutic interventions
  • Ability to use IT systems
  • Clinical Leadership. Training & Induction of staff.
  • Teaching/Presentation skills.
