Job summary

Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust (CNTW) is seeking a Band 6 physiotherapist or a Band 5 ready to develop into Band 6, to deliver specialised assessment and treatment for people with dementia and complex mental health conditions in Northumberland. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver care across community and inpatient settings.

You will contribute to service development, follow evidence-based pathways, and use research, innovation, and quality

Qualifications

• Essential criteria: Recognised Physiotherapy degree qualification or equivalent.
• Essential criteria: State registration with HCPC.
• Essential criteria: Further relevant post qualifying training.

Main duties of the job

This is an opportunity for a band 6 physiotherapist or a physiotherapist to move into a developmental post working as a band 6 or working from a Band 5 and developing into a Band 6 role. It is your chance to make a real difference to people living with dementia and complex, enduring mental health conditions within Northumberland.

You will be a skilled and knowledgeable team player who is able to think holistically and creatively to deliver specialist assessment and management and physiotherapy service provision for service users who have a variety of complex physiotherapy needs, diverse presentations and a range of mental health, alongside our multi-disciplinary team.

Alongside the clinical leads and other colleagues, you will contribute to the service development and implementation of evidence-based core pathways across community services whilst contributing to the inpatient team from this perspective. Using research, innovation, and quality improvement.

Education and Qualifications

Essential criteria

• Recognised Physiotherapy degree qualification or equivalent.
• State registration with HCPC.
• Further relevant post qualifying training.

Desirable criteria

• Registered member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy

Knowledge and Experience

Essential criteria

• Awareness and understanding of professional accountability, HCPC and CSP standards and other local and national initiatives
• Proven track record of post registration clinical experience relevant to the post.
• Awareness and understanding of professional accountability, HCPC and CSP standards and other local and national initiatives.
• Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team
• Experience of providing Physiotherapy services.

Desirable criteria

• Clinical experience relevant to this role
• Knowledge of involving service users/ carers in evaluation/planning and monitoring of services
• Knowledge of audit, research and evaluation
