Job summary

Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust seeks a Band 6 Physiotherapist for the Elderly Assessment Unit in Wansbeck General Hospital, Ashington. You will manage an independent caseload, assist in discharge planning and support frailty pathway objectives.

Applicants should hold a BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy, be registered with the CSP and HCPC, and have completed core rotations as a Band 5. A valid driving licence is essential for the role.

Qualifications

• BSC Honours degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent experience and/or qualification.
• Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
• Member of the Health Professionals Council
• Candidates should have completed their post graduate core rotations as a Band 5
• Knowledge of or experience in coaching and mentoring practices and tools
• Knowledge of or experience in Quality improvement tools, techniques and methods

Responsibilities

• To assess, diagnose and treat an independent clinical caseload.
• To work as part of the physiotherapy team under the guidance and support of more experienced highly specialist senior physiotherapy staff.
• To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust.
• This means demonstrating a consistent leadership style which engages, enables and empowers others, uses coaching to promote ownership of learning and quality improvement and facilitates team working and collaboration within teams / departments and across organisational boundaries.
• Supervise junior staff, assistants and students, participate in service development activities and contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the service.
