Job summary

East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a Specialist Occupational Therapist (Band 6) to deliver high-quality specialist OT assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and discharge planning within acute services. You will work as part of an integrated multidisciplinary team to support safe and timely patient discharge and optimise patient flow.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Undertake assessments and coordinate Occupational Therapy interventions to facilitate a safe discharge.
• Undertake specialist clinical Occupational Therapy, including work requiring particular expertise.
• Promote integrated, multidisciplinary working practices that support a seamless transition of care.
• Support the Team Lead Occupational Therapist, Professional Occupational Therapy Lead and Service Manager with service development, helping to implement policy and policy changes and to set and monitor standards of practice.
• Support the Complex Occupational Therapy team/Integrated Discharge Team in optimising patient flow.
• Work flexibly across acute services as needed.
