Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is seeking a Specialist Occupational Therapist to join our dedicated mental health services. You will work with individuals with complex needs, leading specialist interventions and contributing to service development within a supportive, multidisciplinary environment.

The role is based at The Stewart Centre, part-time and permanent, with a pro rata salary for hours worked.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy.
• HCPC registration is required.
• Specialist knowledge and experience in Mental Health Services.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary and multi-agency teams.
• Strong communication, assessment, observation and risk management skills.
• Knowledge of clinical governance, audit processes and evidence-based practice.
• Ability to lead and supervise junior staff and students.

Responsibilities

• Manage a specialist caseload of service users with complex mental health needs using evidence-based and person-centred approaches.
• Deliver comprehensive occupational therapy assessments, interventions and outcome evaluations.
• Act as a specialist resource providing expert advice to colleagues, carers and partner agencies.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary assessment, care planning, risk management and service delivery.
• Supervise, mentor and support junior staff and occupational therapy students.
• Lead or contribute to audit, quality improvement and service development projects.
• Maintain accurate clinical records, reports and activity data in line with standards.
