Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) seeks an Advanced Specialist Occupational Therapist to join Connect ED, a Specialist Eating Disorder Service within Tier 4 CAMHS. The role focuses on highly specialist assessment, intervention and leadership for young people with complex eating disorders.

The post covers a broad geographical area; travel between sites is required. Part-time, permanent, based at Templeton Business Centre with Mon-Fri pattern. Pro rata salary applies.

Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy with current HCPC registration.
  • Significant experience in occupational therapy practice with specialist knowledge for children/young people and mental health services.
  • Evidence of ongoing postgraduate learning relevant to the specialty area.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with young people, families and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience delivering specialist assessment and intervention for complex cases.
  • Ability to lead service development, influence practice, support learning and contribute to audit/research.
  • Organisation, time management and clinical reasoning; able to travel across NHSGGC.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver highly specialist OT assessment, intervention and management for young people with complex eating disorders and mental health needs.
  • Lead and develop OT pathways and programmes to enhance engagement, recovery and participation in meaningful daily activities.
  • Manage a complex clinical caseload and provide evidence-based, occupation-focused interventions across settings.
  • Provide specialist advice and support to CAMHS, Specialist Children's Services and partner agencies.
  • Lead and contribute to service development, audit and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Deliver OT group programmes and participate in MDT responsibilities and duties.
  • Support workforce development through training, supervision, education and sharing specialist knowledge.
