Job summary

Wirral Council is recruiting a Specialist Educational Psychologist to join our forward-thinking Educational Psychology Service on a permanent basis. The role focuses on SEMH, relational approaches, inclusion and system-wide impact within Wirral's CYP services.

You will lead collaborative work with schools, services and partners to deliver early intervention and trauma-informed practice, while supporting professional development and safeguarding across the council.

Qualifications

• Hold a recognised postgraduate qualification in Educational Psychology.
• Be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
• Have a sound understanding of SEND legislation, safeguarding, and statutory processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and champion inclusive practice across the Local Authority in SEMH.
• Work on embedding relational and trauma-informed approaches in schools as part of Experts at Hand.
• Shape and deliver strategic developments to support engagement and belonging in schools, including EBSA work.
• Work collaboratively across agencies to drive systemic change and boost inclusion.
• Promote and embed evidence-based practice across the service.
• Support the development of colleagues and strengthen professional expertise in the team and wider children’s services.
