Job summary

Wirral Council’s Educational Psychology Service is seeking an experienced Specialist Educational Psychologist (Soulbury Scale B 3-7+ with up to 3 SPA points) to join a forward‑looking, inclusive team.

The post emphasises SEMH, early intervention, relational approaches, and collaboration with schools, families and agencies, offering flexible/hybrid working, a clear career pathway, and support for professional development.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualification in Educational Psychology
• HCPC registration with current status
• Knowledge of SEND legislation and safeguarding standards

Responsibilities

• Lead and champion inclusive practice across the Local Authority in SEMH
• Embed relational and trauma-informed approaches in schools
• Shape and deliver strategic developments to support engagement and belonging in schools and communities
• Work collaboratively across agencies to drive systemic change
• Promote evidence-based practice across the service
• Support development of colleagues and strengthen professional expertise within the team
