Job description

Job Opportunity: Specialist Diabetes Dietitian

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Specialist Diabetes Dietitian to join our Integrated Community Diabetes Service (ICDS) across Bury and Rochdale. The dietitian will provide dietary advice and support to patients attending specialist outpatient clinics, including insulin pump, young adult, and gestational diabetes. There will also be opportunities to deliver group patient education, including DAFNE and DESMOND sessions in the community.

You will join a supportive Dietetic team and work as part of the Diabetes MDT (ICDS) alongside consultants, specialist nurses, and midwives. The successful candidate will be part of the multidisciplinary team and work autonomously.

• Passionate and innovative dietitian keen to develop clinical knowledge in diabetes.
• Applications welcomed from any band 5 dietitians interested in specialising in diabetes.

Role Responsibilities

1. Provide an efficient, effective, and high-quality Nutrition and Dietetic service to people with diabetes across Bury and Rochdale.
2. Focus on delivering a specialist dietetic service tailored to patients with complex acute and chronic disease processes, specifically diabetes.
3. Provide evidence-based care, education, and information to patients, carers, and healthcare professionals in outpatient and community settings.
4. Participate in student education and support clinical placements within the Nutrition and Dietetic service.
