Job summary

Aspire People are recruiting a dedicated Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Leicester. You will work closely with teachers to provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with complex needs, helping them access learning and develop communication, independence and confidence.

The role requires passion, resilience and a calm, patient approach. You’ll collaborate with SEN staff and other professionals to create nurturing learning environments and track

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children with SEN or complex needs is essential.
• Ability to provide 1:1 and small-group support within a school setting.
• Strong communication and teamwork with teachers and support staff.

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils.
• Supporting pupils with complex and additional needs.
• Helping children access learning and classroom activities.
• Supporting communication and social development.
• Assisting with emotional regulation and sensory needs.
• Encouraging independence and life skills.
• Following individual learning and support plans.
• Building positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Creating a calm, safe and nurturing environment.
• Working closely with teachers and SEN staff.
