Job summary

National Star is seeking a Specialist Care Team Leader to supervise shifts and oversee day-to-day residential care and learning support for young people with disabilities. You will lead a residential area, coach staff, and ensure high care standards while promoting learning and independence.

We expect at least 2 years' care experience, a Level 3 Diploma, and a compassionate, inclusive approach. The role offers extensive training, career development, and a supportive environment at Ullenwood.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in care/support services.
  • Experience supporting people with disabilities or complex needs.
  • Experience leading, supervising or coordinating colleagues.
  • Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

  • Leading shifts and supervising colleagues.
  • Supporting and developing team members, including new starters.
  • Promoting high standards of care, dignity and wellbeing.
  • Working closely with therapists, tutors and healthcare professionals.
  • Supporting students in residential, educational and community settings.
  • Administering medication and ensuring care plans are followed.
  • Supporting learning, independence, communication and life skills.
  • Organising activities, social opportunities and community experiences.

What you'll be doing

Essential requirements

External applicants

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in care/support services.
