Job summary

Positive Futures Recruitment Ltd is recruiting Teaching Assistants for a brand-new specialist school opening January 2027 in Backwell. This role focuses on supporting pupils with ASD/SEMH and working with a supportive team.

You will assist with learning activities, promote positive behaviour, and help with personal care tasks, with hours 40 per week during term time; salary range £22,996–£25,068 depending on experience.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with learning activities and reinforce concepts taught by the teacher.
• Promote positive behaviour and adapt your approach to meet individual needs.
• Assist with personal care tasks including hygiene, dressing and eating when required.
• Encourage independence, confidence and personal development.
• Provide clear, accurate feedback on pupil progress, behaviour and wellbeing.
• Help prepare learning resources and contribute to lesson planning and evaluation.
