Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a SEND Maths Tutor to provide individualised educational support to a learner in St Helens. The role involves delivering Maths tuition on a 1:1 basis and adapting your teaching style to suit the learner's needs, helping them access and enjoy the subject.

The successful candidate will build rapport, boost confidence and support academic progress. GCSE Maths teaching experience and a patient, adaptable approach are desirable, with eligibility to work in the UK and

• Strong Maths knowledge and GCSE Maths teaching experience.
• Experience working with SEND learners (including SEMH, Autism, ADHD).

SEND Maths Tutor - St Helens

Do you have a strong Maths background and experience supporting young people with SEND?

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a SEND Maths Tutor to provide individualised educational support to a learner across St Helens.

The role will involve delivering Maths tuition on a 1:1 basis, whilst adapting your teaching style to suit the learner's individual needs.

The successful tutor will be able to build rapport, make Maths accessible and engaging, and support the learner to develop confidence alongside their academic progress.

Position Details:

• Location: St Helens
• Position: SEND Maths Tutor
• Hours: 5-15 hours per week
• Start Date: September 2026
• Duration: Ongoing

Experience, Training and Qualifications:

We're particularly interested in candidates with:

• Strong Maths subject knowledge
• GCSE Maths teaching or tutoring experience
• Previous experience working with SEND learners
• Experience supporting SEMH, Autism, ADHD or other additional needs
• QTS, PGCE or equivalent desirable
• A patient and adaptable approach

To be eligible for this role, you must:

• Hold the Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered with the Update Service or be willing to process a new application
