Job summary

Prestley Wood Academy within Horizons Education Trust is seeking a Level 2 Teaching Assistant to support teaching with pupils who have complex needs, including autism, in a specialist setting. The role is 32.5 hours per week during term time, with training days and January 2027 start date.

Induction and ongoing professional development are provided. Experience with special needs is desirable but not essential; full training will be given.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with special needs children is desirable, but not essential.
• Qualifications related to the field are desirable, but not essential.
• Ability to understand and use ICT systems and write to parents/carers.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching with pupils who have complex needs, including challenging behaviours and autism in our specialist setting.
• Contribute to a positive, supportive teaching environment within our team.
• Adhere to safeguarding, DBS checks and school policies.
