Job summary

TeacherActive is working with a SEND school in Oldbury to appoint a dedicated Level 2 Teaching Assistant on a full-time, long-term basis from September. The role involves supporting secondary students with autism and complex needs, collaborating with teaching staff to deliver high-quality support inside and outside the classroom.

Ideal candidates will hold a Level 2 TA qualification or equivalent, have SEND experience, strong communication skills, and a patient, proactive approach to help

Qualifications

• Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, particularly autism and complex needs.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships.
• Experience supporting students with communication and behaviour needs.
• A patient, caring and proactive approach.
• A genuine passion for helping young people achieve their potential.

Responsibilities

• Support secondary-aged students with autism, complex needs, communication needs and behaviour needs.
• Work closely with teaching staff to deliver high-quality support both inside and outside the classroom.
• Encourage student engagement, independence and progress.
