Job summary

Highfield Littleport Academy is seeking a Level 1 Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs in a special school setting. The role is permanent and term-time with 32.5 hours across 39 weeks, starting as soon as possible. Visa sponsorship is not available.

You will work under the direction of the class teacher to help individuals and small groups learn and build independence. The post includes benefits such as LGPS, Cycle to Work, and a retention allowance on top of basic pay.

Qualifications

• Support teaching and learning with individuals or small groups under the classroom teacher.
• Help pupils follow instructions, stay engaged and develop independence in learning and play.
• Assist with behaviour support, inclusion and pupils' emotional and social wellbeing.
• Prepare and maintain learning environments, resources and displays for lessons.
• Contribute to pupil supervision, record keeping, safeguarding and the daily running of school activities.
