Job summary

Cuxton Community Infant School in the United Kingdom is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to work with our teaching and support staff to help identify and assist pupils in vulnerable groups, including those with special needs. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support in the Hazel room and help explain activities.

You will prepare the classroom, create displays, support behaviour, and provide emotional support to aid social development.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting pupils with special needs or in vulnerable groups.
  • Ability to build rapport with children and parents.
  • Strong numeracy and literacy skills to support learning.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support in the Hazel room.
  • Prepare the classroom and learning spaces; create displays of children’s work.
  • Support pupils to stay engaged, monitor behaviour and offer emotional support.
  • Assist with adapting activities to meet individual needs and maintain confidentiality.
