Job summary

The Primary First Trust is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to work with our teaching and support staff, helping identify pupils in vulnerable groups, especially those with special needs, and supporting them to become independent learners.

You will assist in our Hazel room, provide 1:1 and group support, help prepare classrooms and displays, and support emotional and social development while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Qualifications

  • Passionate about supporting all children.
  • Excellent communication with children and carers.
  • Ability to adapt to individual needs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the Hazel room providing 1:1 and group support to pupils.
  • Prepare classroom, learning spaces and displays of children’s work.
  • Support pupils who need extra help to complete tasks or engage with schoolwork.
  • Monitor for challenging behaviour and promote positive behaviour.
  • Provide emotional support and inform staff of issues.
