Job summary

A SEN school in Merton is seeking a Special Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to support a class of pupils with needs including Autism (ASD) and communication challenges (SLCN).

Position starts ASAP, long-term with potential to go permanent based on performance. Typical hours are 8:30 am–4:00 pm and safeguarding is a core commitment of the school.

Qualifications

• At least 3 months' experience supporting special/additional needs, especially Autism and SEMH.
• Background or keen interest in Psychology, Mental Health, and Therapeutic Intervention.

Responsibilities

• Support a class of pupils with needs including Autism and SLCN.
• Assist with behavioural support and therapeutic interventions.
• Support safeguarding and promote welfare of children and young people.
